Trigger / Triggered Email
« Back to Glossary Index
A trigger is any event, condition, or time-based rule that initiates or advances an automated workflow or sends a specific message. Triggered emails are those sent as a direct response to such an event.
- Examples: New sign-up, product activation, cart abandonment, contract renewal date approaching, or 30 days of inactivity.
- Advantage: These emails are inherently contextual and often achieve substantially higher engagement and conversion rates than generic broadcasts.
